About Levi Kampus
Background and Objectives of the Project
The Municipality of Kittilä is a vibrant and developing municipality, but continued growth and development require securing a skilled workforce. The attraction and retention of both domestic and international professionals in the region can be strengthened through the development of educational provision. There has also been a recognized need in the region to clarify and consolidate the available educational opportunities and to develop education and competence solutions based on local, business-driven needs.
The objective of the project is to create a cooperation model between educational institutions, local businesses, and the municipality that strengthens employment, skills development, and the attractiveness and retention capacity of the Levi/Kittilä region.
The goal of building the Levi Campus service model will be achieved through three sub-objectives:
- Establish the Levi Campus network, including not only educational organizations but also key stakeholders such as the Tunturi-Lappi and Pello employment area, the Municipality of Kittilä, local entrepreneurs, and business associations.
- Develop local, working-life-oriented education solutions and strengthen cooperation with working life within the Levi Campus service model’s educational offering.
- Strengthen international connections and develop opportunities for year-round employment.
The key outcome of the project is the Levi Campus service model and network, which support regional skills development and employment. Through this network, solutions to the competence and training needs of the Kittilä and Levi region can be identified quickly. The network will utilize regional foresight data and tailor local solutions for the Levi Campus educational offering accordingly.
